★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Review of "Scotiabank" at 200 Fifth Avenue I have been a customer for quite a few years, but this bank has worked exceptionally hard at getting me to change banks (which is a hassle, but I wont put up with them any longer). The front-line tellers are great, but try to get one of their screw-ups dealt with, or get some semblance of service from any other bank employee...You will get your visa statement a day or two prior to its due date, and if you miss that date (even if paying more than the minimum) you will have your rates increased by several percent for a year. Try to deal with that penalty caused by their sloth or the post office? If, after at least a half-hour online you come up with a local number, it wont be answered by a live person---you will be told you must make an appointment via an 800 number. Their visa number is either an 800 number or a 416 area, either of which gets you to a fluent English-speaker in Columbia, south america, who tells you to talk to your local branch (who will be booked up for appointments for 10 days into the future). Its a hassle to change banks. yes, they have managed it with a long-term customer. Being inconvenienced at every turn for the privelege of doing business with them is about to come to an end.
